Mossai Sanguma--CEUM

Mossai and Sabuli SangumaMossai (and Sabuli) Sanguma, President of the CEUM in Democratic Republic of Congo, oversees a church larger than the Covenant church of North America, with about 175,000 constituents. They live with son Gene in Gemena. President Sanguma’s tasks include:
a) Continued formal training of pastors, preachers, evangelists and laypeople for leadership in over 1,000 local congregations. Close to half of the preachers leading local churches have not had formal, extended Bible training.
b) Christian formation and training for young people along with a good foundational education.
c) Evangelistic outreach to resistant areas, to towns particularly affected by the war and unrest of the past four years, and to places where the Gospel has not taken root.
d) Missionary outreach to the Pygmies who live deep inside Congo and the Fulani tribes surrounding Congo.
e) A functioning school system, holistic ministry in medicine and development, and leadership in local and government.

Prayer Requests   How to Reach Them
  1. Church leadership to grow in both numbers and spiritual maturity and leadership.
  2. Schools to be repaired, staffed, and fruitful in teaching the children of the Ubangi (NW Congo).
  3. Families whose lives have been destroyed by the civil war over the last decade to find God at the center of their faith.
  4. Giving of time and resources by our people to build and maintain schools, to plant gardens for food, to maintain roads, pay local pastors, preachers and teachers, and to build up their own faith so that the witness of the church continues.
  5. The Sanguma family as they now adjust to life in many places around the globe.
